In the Bugesera District’s Nyamata Sector, a young guy was forced to give over a stolen motorcycle to his elder brother when it inexplicably developed a bee colony on it
The event happened in Nyamata town at approximately 2:00 PM on Tuesday. The young man was pushing the motorcycle covered in bee stings to the home of Rurangirwa Wilson, a well-known traditional healer who goes as Salongo.
A family conflict is revealed in the backstory: the young guy stole the motorcycle from his elder brother due to an outstanding debt of 500,000 Rwandan Francs.
The elder brother tried to get Salongo to help him get his land back, which resulted in the amazing sight that the residents saw.
A neighbor named Umuhire Vicent commented on the scene, pointing out that similar incidents are not unusual in the neighborhood. He proposed that the spell of the bees—likely cast by Salongo—is a well-known discourager of thievery.
At the center of this strange event was a young guy who justified his actions by saying they were a desperate attempt to recover the money he was due.
“My brother lent me his motorcycle so I could enjoy the ride, but he withheld it because I wanted him to pay me my money first,” he clarified. Hence, I was unable to even ride the motorcycle yesterday due to a swarm of bees that I noticed approaching my house. Everything seemed to be urging me to bring it to Salongo.”
Salongo, on the other hand, acknowledged his role and said that he was acting to correct the wrong that had been brought to his attention. He told the young man to give the motorcycle back to his elder brother right away after the bees were taken out.
